Wycliffe Associates, Orlando, FL

Wycliffe Associates supports Bible translation by recruiting volunteers who serve at home and abroad, and by providing modern technology and training for national translators.

Long and short-term WA volunteers are ordinary people who do extraordinary things! They meet and live among people from another culture as they use their skills in construction projects, teaching school, accounting, IT, performing office duties or a host of other important jobs. Click here for a list of some current WA volunteer opportunities.

WA also does fund-raising banquets in our area, and the next one will be held in ___, 20__.

For more info please see: www.wycliffeassociates.org
Click here to see WA's current prayer list.

  How do you pronounce "Wycliffe"?
Most within Wycliffe pronounce the "y" as a shorter sound as in the first "y" in "mystery", instead of the longer "y" sound in "try". Pronounce it as you will and God will sort it out - - just pray, give send or go!

JAARS, Waxhaw, NC
JAARS was formed by Cameron Townsend in 1948, and it moved to Waxhaw, NC in 1961. JAARS supports and provides for the logistic and technology services needed by SIL Int'l., the Wycliffe Global Alliance, and other Bible translation partners in the global Bible translation movement.

Formerly known as "Jungle Aviation And Radio Service," the name was changed to JAARS in 1986 because their services had expanded well beyond aviation and radio! Today they provide the vital services listed below. Their seven international operating services are linked.

  • Aviation - Pilots / Mechanics
  • Maritime Services
  • Land Transportation
  • Computers/Information Technology
  • Vernacular Media Services
  • Purchasing and Shipping
  • Personnel, Human Resources
  • Construction and Maintenance
  • Administration/Finances
  • Auto Repair
  • Food Services
  • And - - and - - and - - -!

JAARS needs long and short term help, both at home and abroad. They can use nearly any skill that God has entrusted to you. Many seniors have found it rewarding to become volunteers at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, NC, in their retirement years.

Samaritan's Purse, Boone, NC
"Let my heart be broken with the things that break the heart of God" wrote Bob Pierce after visiting suffering children on the Korean island of Kojedo. This impassioned prayer guided him as he founded Samaritan's Purse in 1970.

Samaritan's Purse is much more than the Christmas shoe boxes they are famous for. Headed up by Franklin Graham since 1980, SP works throughout the world, including the U.S., reaching hurting people with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This in turn earns them a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus.

Brian and Sandi Stoltzfus spend much of their time in East Africa where Brian is training Captain on the Samaritan's Purse turboprop DC-3. Much of his flying is in Sudan in support of SP's medical, agricultural, educational, relief, church rebuilding, and leadership training efforts.

MMS Aviation, Coshocton, OH
Since 1975 MMS Aviation has provided a 30-month aircraft maintenance apprenticeship for those preparing to serve God through mission aviation. Formerly known as Missionary Maintenance Services, MMS Aviation also provides aircraft repair to Christian missionary organizations, free of labor charge.

From the first day of training, an MMS apprentice is a productive member of the mission community. An exciting aspect of MMS Aviation is their Rapid Response Corps. These short term mission field assistance teams help reduce the "down time" of an aircraft by providing extra manpower for major inspections and repairs. They also provide the MMS apprentice an opportunity to experience foreign mission aviation ministries first hand.

There is an ongoing opportunity for apprentices to join MMS in preparation for service in missionary aviation.

Interlink places a high priority on work that establishes and strengthens nationally led churches.

Interlink is committed to facilitating ministry in a manner that is efficient and effective in the field and a source of spiritual vitality and growth for those sponsoring the work.
